Mandala - The word "mandala" is from the classical Indian language of Sanskrit. Loosely translated to mean "circle," a mandala is far more than a simple shape. It represents wholeness, and can be seen as a model for the organizational structure of life itself--a cosmic diagram that reminds us of our relation to the infinite, the world that extends both beyond and within our bodies and minds.


Objectives:


  • Identify your 3 graphics and 1 word (get approval)
  • Import 3 .jpg images  and create 1 text file for mandala  template.
  • Using redial design, balance and unity create a mandala with personal meaning on an 10"x 10" - 300 res. file
  • Review and apply skills taught in previous lessons (shape, line, texture, typography) to create three images that are related to your   word literally or conceptually.
  • Create 4 mandalas and upload best design[s].  Show me all four before uploading.

  • Closure:    Form is an element of art.  Explain how shape is different from form.
