Focus:Read & copy the following definitions into Evernote (focus & closure)

Movement is the path the viewer’s eye takes through the artwork, often to focal areas. Such movement can be directed along lines edges, shape and color within the artwork.

Pattern is the repeating of an object or symbol all over the artwork.

Repetition works with pattern to make the artwork seem active. The repetition of elements of design creates unity within the artwork.

Rhythm is created when one or more elements of design are used repeatedly to create a feeling of organized movement. Variety is essential to keep rhythm exciting and active, and moving the viewer around the artwork.  Rhythm creates a mood like music or dancing.

Texture is the way a surface feels or is perceived to feel.
Tactile texture is the actual three-dimension feel of a surface that can be touched.
Visual texture is the illusion of the surfaces peaks and valleys, like the tree pictured. Any     texture shown in a photo is a visual texture, meaning the paper is smooth no matter how    rough the image perceives it to be.

Objectives:
  • Create a 3-line composition using filters and manipulating layer styles.  Review requirements before completing & uploading to Flickr.

Closure:  Identity the principles of design that are being used in this zentangle.
